Setting up your
printer

Before your first print, you need to install the ink cartridge and charge the printer. This takes about 90 minutes and only needs to be done once.

Important: Always turn the printer OFF before installing or removing the ink cartridge. The cartridge voltage must not exceed 9.6V — stay within the 8.8V–9.6V range to avoid damage.

1

Install the ink cartridge

Press the ink cartridge release button to open the cartridge housing area. Remove the plastic cover from the cartridge nozzle. Insert the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place, then close the cover securely.

2

Charge the printer

Connect the included USB-C charging cable to the printer. The 2,200mAh battery charges fully in 90 minutes. The charger is compatible with 110–240V sockets worldwide.

3

Power on

Press and hold the red button on the side of the printer for 3–5 seconds until the screen turns on. The YAOMATEC boot screen will appear — press the centre of the logo when prompted, follow the arrow guide, and the screen will calibrate automatically.

The screen calibration only happens on first boot. It takes about 10 seconds.

Your first print

The main interface shows your current design and the print preview. From here you can create, edit, and print your content directly on screen — no computer needed.

1

Create a new file

From the main screen, tap the open file icon. Select New to create a fresh design. You can also open a saved file using Local (from the printer's memory) or USB (from a flash drive).

2

Add your content

Tap Add on the main interface to choose what you want to print. Options include text, date/time, image (logo), barcode, QR code, serial number, and more.

3

Position your printer

Use the metal positioning plate included in your box to align the printer against the edge of your packaging. This ensures a straight, consistent print every time.

4

Press and glide

Press the trigger button and glide the printer smoothly across the surface at an even speed. The photocell sensor detects your movement and fires the ink automatically. One smooth motion = one clean print.

Tip: Practice on a spare piece of cardboard first to find your ideal speed.

After printing: Press the return key to exit print mode, then turn off the printer before removing the ink cartridge. Removing the cartridge while the printer is on can damage the machine.

Creating your
designs

The PrintyPocket Pro supports multiple content types. You can combine text, images, barcodes, and dates in a single design — and save it for repeated use.

Text

Type any text directly on screen. Adjust font, size, width, spacing, style (solid, dot matrix, circle dot), bold, and italic. Supports 24 languages.

Date & Time

Auto-synced date and time printed dynamically. Choose your format, adjust font and size, and it updates automatically with each print.

Barcode & QR Code

Add any barcode or QR code. Enter your URL or code text, choose the format, and adjust height and width. Display text below the barcode optionally.

Serial / Batch Numbers

Auto-incrementing numbers for each print. Set start value, increment amount, min/max values. Perfect for labelling batches or products.

Image / Logo

Print your logo via USB. Must be BMP format, max size 150×1000px. PNG and JPG are not supported — see the logo section below.

Multiple Lines

Add a segment divider to split content across lines. Each line prints separately. Combine text, dates, and barcodes in one design.

Saving your designs: Always save your design before printing. Tap Save to overwrite the current file, or Save As to create a new one. Your designs are stored in the printer's internal memory and persist after power off.

More ways to
use your printer

Feature What it does
Variable QR Code Print a different QR code on each item automatically — great for unique product codes or tracking.
Counter / Batch Number Auto-increments with each print. Set a start number, increment value, and max. Resets automatically when it reaches the highest value.
Excel Data (via USB) Load a .txt data file from USB to print different text on each item in sequence — names, order numbers, or custom messages.
Custom Fonts (via USB) Upload any font file via USB flash drive to print in your exact brand typography.
Nozzle Select If one side prints unevenly, switch between Left, Right, or Double Print in the nozzle settings to correct alignment.
Print Darkness Adjust the nozzle voltage (8.8V–9.6V) to control ink density. Higher = darker. Never exceed 9.6V.
Screen Language Change the interface language from the settings menu. 24 languages supported including English, French, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese.

Keeping your printer
in perfect condition

Cover the cartridge when not printing

If you stop printing for more than 10 minutes, replace the cartridge cap. The nozzle will dry out if left uncovered and may stop printing correctly. Always cap when not in active use.

Clean the print head when quality drops

If prints appear faded or incomplete, run the built-in head cleaning function from the settings menu. For stubborn blockages, gently wipe the nozzle with a dry lint-free cloth. Never use water or solvents directly on the nozzle.

Store correctly between uses

Store the printer upright with the cartridge installed, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not leave the cartridge out of the printer for extended periods.

Always power off before removing the cartridge

Removing the ink cartridge while the printer is on can permanently damage the machine. Always press the power button and wait for the screen to turn off before handling the cartridge.

Coming back after a break? Run a test print on spare cardboard before printing on your packaging. This clears any dried ink from the nozzle and confirms print quality is good before you brand your products.
